Family Fun Days Ponce Inlet Lighthouse

May 24- May 28   10 a.m.- 2 p.m. Ponce Inlet Lighthouse 4931 S.
Peninsula Drive, Ponce Inlet. Join us at the Lighthouse for
Family Fun activities. Explore our historical exhibits and climb the tallest
lighthouse in Florida. Journey back 100 years ago, when the keepers and their
families lived at the lighthouse. In 1927, Mosquito Inlet was renamed to honor
the Spanish explorer Juan Ponce de Leon. The lighthouse that also bears his
name was completed in 1887. As part of our celebration of Spanish Heritage,
the museum offers exhibits in English and Spanish, Spanish guide materials and
Spanish Language information and activities on our website at Visitors to the Lighthouse during the Family Fun
Days will have the opportunity to participate in family-oriented activities that
have been designed to highlight our rich Spanish heritage in the State of
Florida. One of our featured activities for this event will be Ponce on a
Stamp: from Idea to the Envelope. Have you ever wondered how a person, place or
thing end up featured on a U.S. stamp? Learn about the process of the creation
of a stamp. Learn about the Citizens Stamp Advisory Committee and create your
own commemorative stamp design to mark the 500th year of Ponce de Leon's
